new life

well, for those of you who read this blog, here is a litle update about what is going on. ben and i are finally married and are enjoying married life very much. we got back from our honeymoon on friday and went down to brandon, which is where we will be living on saturday. we found an apartment and went yesterday, sunday, to put in our application and hopefully we will pass inspection. hahaha. they have to run a credit check and background check on us, so we have to wait for that to come back before we know for sure that we got it. so, we are waiting to hear about that. we are going to be going to ciy next week with our new youth group and we are totally excited about it. it will be a great chance to get to know our kids better and really bond with them. then after ciy we will be going to my house to pick up the rest of my stuff and then finally move into our new house. so we really won't have a home until august, but that's o.k. we are going to be nomads for a few weeks. so, keep in touch. love you girls who read this blog!!

new job!!

to all those who read this blog....not really sure who all that is, but anyway. ben has a job!!! we are so excited!! he is going to be the new youth minister at horizon christian church in valrico, florida. it is right outside of tampa. we are going to be moving there sometime in august. we are going tomorrow so that i can meet everyone at the church and get to know them a little bit. we are also going to go on an apartment safari....which is what i am calling it because i've decided that it's weird, so i've changed it's name. so anyway. that's where we stand on things. i'm just so glad that we have a job now! now i have to start looking for one....oh goody. thanks for all your prayers for us....we really appreciate it!!

ocean's thirteen

so, the girls and i went to see ocean's thirteen last night. and i must say, i was highly impressed. but as carly and chelsea will tell you, we could definately do the same thing with photoshop and imovie. i mean, come on! no, just kidding. but it was very good and we had a good time. getting free popcorn wasn't so bad either! it was just nice to have a night out and not feel like we had to be somewhere else doing something else, aka homework. although i should have packed i suppose. but, it's alright. i'm not going to worry about it right now. only two more days of class! it's actually kind of nice, like this lovely picture!

someone tell me why

by the way, i had my very first real job interview today. i think that it went pretty well and i answered all the questions the way that i should have. i don't really know if i wowed her socks off because she can't really do any of the hiring, but i think i did a good job and that's all that matters. so we'll just have to see what happens. only four more days of class and then it's all over.

concrete sequential

well, here we are. las tres amigas....together again! last night we went out to celebrate one amiga's birthday. it was great fun and i'm really going to miss all of you girls. today was another day filled with working on computers and being crazy. it was kind of fun making our video in frames though. it was very easy and i would use that with my kids. yep, i would. i still prefer pcs though. i think someone should come up with a commercial where a totally concrete sequential person gets to use a pc after being frustrated for years about mac. it would be great. yep, i could be the star.....

frustrating day

today was probably one of the most frustrating days ever. we are working on projects for class and it is just beyond me. i hate it! i hate having to keep working on projects and moving between programs. can't they just figure out a way to make all programs work the same??? i want steve jobs to fix it! i also really dislike macs because they never work for me. love me some pc. maybe i'll put a mac/pc commerical on here. they should make one for people who love pcs.

the beginning of the end

well, tomorrow is the beginning of the end. we will start our last class of grad school, and i must say that i'm rather glad. i love it here, but i'm ready to move on and do other things. i'm ready to go and be on my own, for real this time. i know it will be hard, not knowing just yet where we are going, but it's going to be great because i'm going to be with some that i care for and deeply love and trust. speaking of which, he came and surprised me tonight. he was in north carolina on another interview and he drove 4 hours in the other direction to spend some time with me. i was so happy and we have had a really nice time together. i'm even staying up late, just because he's here. tomorrow during class i'll probably regret it, but oh well. i'd rather have him be here and be tired than be without him and be well rested. yeah, i know that i'm cheesy, but i really feel this way. there are so many things that i would give up just to spend more time with him. i can't wait until we get married and he can't leave me! hahahah....oh well. i better get on and do other things. hopefully later this week i will have a good post that is insightful stuff about education and not about my really cute fiance.

by the way, thanks to jillian for showing me how to put the video on the screen and to erica for letting me use her computer. they are both so sweet and i'm going to miss them so much when i leave in two weeks. yes, i'm leaving dear old jbc in two weeks. sniff....here we all are at junior/senior last year.

school's out!

school's out and summer is here! but, don't get too excited because class starts all over again on monday. but i'm pretty confident that it will be easy as pie and not require too much in the way of in depth thinking. yesterday was kind of hard in saying goodbye to everyone at my school. it's hard to think that i won't be going back in the fall. all year, even when i was gone, i knew that i would be back there soon, but now i won't. but it all will work out for the best. ben is going to north carolina tomorrow, so please be in prayer that we will make the right choices concerning a job for him. we are geting down to the wire on where we are going to live. on a lighter note, i mailed out 113 wedding invitations this afternoon! it was very exciting and the envelopes look great, courtesy of ms. erin, the bridesmaid. well, that's about all for today. hopefully, there will be more tomorrow.

craziness

today is totally crazy. we have to do our thesis defense here in about two hours, my guest list is falling apart, and i'm crazy. i have to work tonight and i'm about to lose my mind. having someone else do the invitations is nice, but it's also very stressful. this thesis thing is driving me nuts too. i hope to post soon about if we passed or not. i'm hoping we will.

school's out!

well, today was the last day of school for the kids! it was kind of odd, because we were trying to clean up and get everything put away. at least they were helpful. they kept asking for things to do and they did a really good job. one of my kids gave me a little gift. it was so sweet. it was a gift card to a book store and he wrote me a sweet little note inside. his mom wrote me a beautiful card and i felt really special. i thought that i was going to have a hard time letting them go, but i didn't and that's o.k. this year has gone by so quick with all the classes and papers and stress and wedding plans, but i think that it's been a good year. i've learned so much and can't wait to start out as a new teacher. i know it's going to be hard to not have someone else to look to, but i think i can do it. i'm just ready to move on with my next phase of life: getting married! i'm so excited to think that it's on 42 days away. i'm ready to be married and see ben everyday. but i will miss everything that i've known for the past five years. but it's time to move on to bigger and better things. so, cheers that school is out and more in another post tomorrow!

end of the year craziness!!

this is craziness. it's the end of the school year and the kids are bonkers. we had field day for a little while today, but it got rained out, so we had to quit around 10:15. you would have thought we asked them to like cut off their arms by going inside. then they wanted to just play all day. that didn't happen. i think we did more work today than we do on normal days. but we are going to make up what we missed tomorrow. which is nice, we won't have much to do in the afternoon. i'm ready for school to be over. i'm tired and just ready for a break. only two more weeks!

so, i've decided to link to a really funny video for your enjoyment today. it's a pinky and the brain video on the parts of the brain. those of you in teacher ed. should enjoy the memories it brings back from brain class. it's also really funny to watch in german. i'll try to get that link up as well, soon. i find it funny that a cartoon would also do something so educational, way beyond the level of most of their viewers. but, i'm glad that they did, because i think it's great! today was a pretty good day for the most part. the kids are really wound up now. but it's still good. so, sit back, relax, and watch the video! all you have to do is click the link that says you tube pinky and the brain. it should take you there!

busy weekend

i have to make this post quick, because i think they are going to do some fixing up on here in a couple of minutes. anyway, today was crazy. the kids were wound up and wild, but it turned out to be o.k. we all had flowers for our moms and jan made cute little pots for them to take them home in. we had a nice lunch provided by the parents and i got a massage! it was great. if anyone ever wants to get me a present, i'll take a massage. yep, it was the perfect thing today. this weekend is also going to be busy. i have to work tonight and tomorrow until 8. then i'm going home to see my mom for mother's day and then turing around sunday and coming home. woo! i'll be tired when i get back, but it will be worth it. see you all later!

so, this is the cutie that I'm about the marry in a couple of months. the past couple of days haven't been so exciting for us. he got two phone calls yesterday from churches telling him they were going in different directions, so we were both really disappointed. it's back to the search mode. things are kind of tense because we really need to know what we are going to do after we get married, but i know that everything is going to work out. i think the thing that makes it really hard for me is that he is so far away right now. i can't talk to him and look into his eyes and really see how he feels about the stuff that is going on. phone calls are great and i'm really glad that we have our cell phones, but nothing can replace face to face contact. but i'm going to see him next week, which will be nice. i just can't wait for july 7th to get here!

i've decided that the book we are reading for our next class is really good. i've already read about three chapters and the information is fascinating. i really think that it would be awesome to use a blog with my class and to create podcasts. i think that it would be great to do a podcast for major units that we are studying, like regions of the U.S., or space. we could put them on the internet for other students to listen and learn from. i can't wait to learn how to do all that really cool stuff.

school is starting to wind down. the days seem to be going by really fast. i look up and it's already lunchtime. the kids are getting a little antsy, but they are doing better this week than they were last week. it's also teacher apprectiation week. our school secretary brought us some cool drinks during lunch today. it was a nice little treat. i love my school, but am also ready for a break over the summer. well, this is getting a little long, and i have other work to do.

my first post

well, this is my first post. we had to set up a blog for our final class in grad school! woo hoo! we are almost finished....but it's going to be sad to leave everyone. but i'm also ready to move on with the next phase of my life. i'm getting married in like 62 days and i am so excited. school is starting to wind down and the kids are getting kind of wild. i don't blame them because i want to be finished too, but we still have work to do. so these next three weeks could be kind of stressful. but the weather is nice and sunny and we can enjoy ourselves during recess. hopefully i will be posting pictures and video of the things that happen during the week and keep everyone entertained. soo....enjoy!
